Keolanani (Keola) has been writing theatre reviews for Front Row Reviewers since 2022 and has reviewed professional shows and artists across Utah and outside of Utah, including Broadway actor Josh Strickland at Tuacahn’s Tarzan (2023), the pre-Broadway tour cast of The Wiz (featuring Alan Mingo Jr. as the title character and Deborah Cox as Glinda), and Pioneer Theatre’s premiere of Shucked (2022), which went on to Broadway and won a Tony. Keola’s critiques are featured on professional artists’ websites like Broadway actress Caroline Innerbichler and by theatre companies like Utah Festival Opera, Wasatch Theatre Company, and Voodoo Theatre Company. She recently had her review of Utah Shakespeare Company’s The Tempest (2022) published in the Spring 2023 edition of Shakespeare Bulletin.
She received her undergraduate degrees from Brigham Young University of Hawai’i in English and music and then went on to study English literature at Weber State University for her master’s degree, obtaining a graduate certificate in Rhetoric and Writing Studies. She is currently pursuing her doctorate in Writing and Rhetoric Studies at the University of Utah.
